Edinburgh Evening News article about Amaranthine

I was over the moon when our home city's most popular newspaper published an article on my Face Oil winning a top award in European Free From Skincare Awards. This is what journalist Julie Douglas from The Edinburgh Evening News wrote:

'The first skincare company in the world to receive a palm oil free certification trademark, her beauty brand Amaranthine has now been recognised for its purity with a top European award.

Sarah decided to make the Capital her home more than 20 years ago after visiting a friend and falling in love with the city.

She now works from a boutique studio at Edinburgh Palette, a former office block at St Margaret’s House on London Road that’s become home to a range of small businesses and creatives.

As a qualified clinical aromatherapist, Sarah’s approach to blending essential oils is holistic, taking account of the benefits they provide to both the skin and mood.

All her products are cruelty-free and ethically produced, using organic and fair trade ingredients.

“The palm oil issue is something I feel very strongly about and being palm oil-free has always been high on my list of company ethics,” she says.

Sarah is delighted that her Amaranthine facial oil - formulated to helps people with problems like adult acne and rosacea - won gold in the problem skin category at the recent Europe-wide Free From Skincare Awards.

Founded nine years ago, the awards encourage and reward manufacturers of products that are free from chemicals and additives linked to skin sensitivities and allergies, as well as being associated with ethical and environmental concerns.

In the next few weeks, Sarah hopes to return to her regular pitch at Leith Market on the first Saturday of the month.'

Here is some of the tester feedback about our Face Oil from the Free From Skincare Awards 2020 :

“Texture perfect — not so thick that it required a lot of massaging, not so runny that it made a mess … Absorbed very well on my dry skin without vanishing completely, which is what I want … very moisturising when my skin was going through an unhappy phase … instant soothing effect on areas of inflamed and irritated skin, which was impressive … Redness and irritation on my cheeks reduced by about 80% over the month … I was blown away … Was sceptical about redness claims but it really worked”

“It cleared deep-seated acne, inflammation and dry skin — is that even possible? — leaving clear, moisturised, soft skin … My skin was hugely improved using this oil … Acne eradicated, inflammation reduced to nothing, dry patches soothed and back to normal … After a month my skin is soft and supple, healthy and clear; it looks normal for the first time in years … This oil seems capable of balancing out the oily problem patches as well as the dry ones … I’ve never found a moisturiser able to do all this”

“I noticed a big difference in the redness of my rosacea after four weeks … Skin looked much smoother and fine lines prominent, with skin glowing … This had a very soothing and nourishing effect on my skin”
